Senate bans same sex marriage in Nigeria....
the Nigerian Senate has officially banned same sex marriage in Nigeria, This means that any union involving two same sex partners (two men or two women) is considerd unlawful in the counter and will attract a jail term for both parties involved.
The new bill states that
1. A marriage contract or civil union entered by two same sex couples by virtue a
certificate issued by a foreign country shall be void in Nigeria.
2. Marriage or civil right entered into by persons of same sex shall not be solemnised
in any place of worship either church or mosque or any other place what so ever
called in Nigeria.
3. only marriages contracted between a man and woman either under Islamic law,
customary law, or the marriage act is recognised as valid in Nigeria.
4. Persons that enter into a same sex marriage or a union commit an offence and
jointly liable on conviction to a term of 14 years imprisonment each.
5. Any person or group of persons that administer, witness, screens, abet and aids
the solemnisation of same sex marriage contract or civil union or support the
registration. operation of gay club, societies and organisations, processions
or meetings in Nigeria commits an offence and liable on conviction to a term of
10 years imprisonment.
The bill awaits President Goodluck Jonathan's approval.
37 PDP law makers defect to the APC.......
According to a breaking News on Chanels TV, 37 PDP house of Reps members on the 18th of Dec defected to the All Progressive Alliance APC. The law makers said their defection was as a result of the factionalisation and division rocking the PDP. their Defection they say is in line with Section 68 subsection 1G of the Nigerian constitution.

Fake Mandela signer 'helped burn men to death'
The bogus sign language interpreter at last week's Nelson Mandel's memorial service was among the group of people who accosted two men with a stolen television and burned them to death by setting fire to tires placed on them, one of the interpreters cousins and three of his friends told the associate press monday.

Strike finally over............
The strike is finally over! As widely expected, The academic staff Union of Universities (ASUU) called off it's anmost six months strike after exhaustive deliberation during today's National executive committee (NEC) meeting held at the Federal University of Technology (FUT) minna, the niger State capital.
A source at the Presidency in Abuja said Government had been made aware of of the happy Development. Since Christmas is already on the way we believe most Schools may wait till January before resuming.
The meeting was called in keeping with the promise of ASUU president Dr. Nasir Isa Fagge, who said shortly after signing MoU in Abuja that the union will meet within a week to decide on weather to call off the strike which has crippled the country's public Universities since July 1.
Senator Yarima divorces 17 year old Wife marries another 15 year old....
Three year after marrying a 14 year old Egyptian Girl named Marian, which was widely protested in Nigeria, former Zamfara State Governor and serving senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Ahmed Yarima, has reportedly divorced her to marry a new wife, City people reports, according to the magazine, Yarima and four men,said to be the members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly where in Egypt a few weeks ago for the wedding fathia of a new bride said to be 15 years old.
Marian who is now 17 and a mother one, is believed to be the former Governor driver's daughter. the reason why he divorced her is to enable him take a new wife as he is not allowed more than four wife's. the new wife is also an Egyptian.
The Senator is alleged to have married and divorced a few women in the last few years but have never changed his first three wife's, only the fourth one's.
Sen. Yarima this year was strongly against the deletion of the 1999 constitution which pegged the official marriage age in Nigeria at 18 years, saying it was anti-Islam.
Nelson Mandela's statue unveiled in pretoria............
The south African Government has unveiled a giant 30 foot bronze statue of the anti-apartheid Leader and former President Nelson Mandela. The unity statue was unveiled today December 16th on the lawns of the Union Building, which is the seat of power in Pretoria.

Nelson Mandela was today buried 15th November at his ancestral home in Qunu after a four hour state funeral which was attended by more than 5,000 people including Prince Charles,Opra Winfrey and Richard Branson.
